As promised we will be putting up some info for our 'new to competition' members and new anglers that have their name down for our open match on Waterfoot beach on November 23rd.
Below you will find the essential match anglers rig for targeting flounder and close to shore species. You will need 6 of these rigs along with various lead weight sizes from 1oz to 5oz. Straight leads with no grips are best. For taking the hook out a Stonfo or Preston disgorgers are ideal for this purpose of turning the hook quickly and safely. Forceps compliment this process. All these items of tackle are available at your local tackle shop, if they don't stock any Belfast Angling Centre will have all. Next up a video on how to take the hook safely out of fish.
