Saturday 21 January saw the first leg of our 2023 shore league sponsored by Daiwa.

Venue: Carnlough 1700-2200hrs

Tide/sea state: Full flood with a moderate surf containing a bit of weed and occasional debris from river.

Weather: Blustery and quite mild.

Species caught: rockling, whiting, codling, bass,coalfish,plaice,dogfish and flounder.

Thirty-two anglers turned out for our first event of the year and while there was a wide variety of species caught, it was very "scratchy" with the fish feeding periodically and then disappearing for a while, before coming on the feed again.

Cash was paid out for 1st to third places and longest fish pools while tackle supplied by our sponsor went to 4th and 5th places.
