Saturday 2nd September saw leg three of our boat league sponsored by Dennett Outdoors.
The venue was Portrush onboard Lady Karen IV skippered by Paul Graham. The weather was kind to us with warm sunshine and a gentle swell along with lots of fish.
As is normally the case, the rough ground produced a better stamp of fish but there was an abundance of species over the clean/mixed ground.
Species recorded were dab, plaice, weaver, dragonette, whiting, codling, pouting, poor cod, dogfish, goldshinney wrasse, ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, pollack, scad, grey gurnard, tub gurnard and mackerel. One of the cuckoo's made specimen size caught by Barry Platt.
Top three anglers on the day were as follows
1st Uel Moore 49 fish, 11 species 210pts
2nd John Rodgers 39 fish, 10 species 176pts
3rd Andy Cleeve 36 fish, 7 species 149 pts
Our last leg of league will be Ballycastle in October.
