Serial LRF and HRF federation member Drew McMinn has been out and about again annoying the fish, here is his blog.
The evening started slow, ran into David Wilson who had been at it most of the afternoon, and for a good hour I couldn’t even touch for a fish! Went for a drive to a seatrout mark which was showing little to no surface activity and after watching the water for 20 minutes or so I plodded, deflated, back to the car, another venue 10 minutes up the road was next, another complete bust, returned to the original venue from earlier and ran into David Rogan, started to fish and immediately had some
more promising results, hit a couple of Pollack and coalfish on the cheb, then david slammed a lovely little kelp cod on the minnow, I followed that up with a wrasse and a cod of my own. The light was leaving so another move to a local rock mark, from the off I hit some fun sized coalies on my new N-One Seabass and a 28g metal, this little rod has already cemented its place in my arsenal after tonight as the fun factor with coalies up to about 2lb was unreal, David on the other hand stuck to his guns on surface lures and managed to get a couple of fish to slap and swirl at the lure, really cool to watch and great to get a wee sesh in with the man who set me off on my fishing journey nearly 20 years ago!😎
